Welcome to the Queens College Preschool Project
The Queens College Preschool Project (QCPP) is a federally funded, five-year study designed to distinguish inattentive/ hyperactive preschool children who develop Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) from those who do not. The ability to distinguish between these two groups of children might help identify children for whom early intervention is warranted and shed light on potential treatment strategies.
"What we know is that a lot of young children seem impulsive and hyperactive, but this may be just a behavioral blip that disappears. On the other hand, some children do not outgrow their behavioral difficulties, and have lasting problems that disrupt their academic and social development. If we can identify who will develop ADHD, we can have more focused early intervention." -Dr. Jeffrey Halperin, Director QCPP
